A special survey on the development of the Ru porcelain industry was carried out by a delegation led by He Xinnian, an inspector of the Henan Provincial Bureau of Press and Publication, on Nov 6. The municipal officials of Pingdingshan and Ruzhou accompanied the delegation.

The delegation was presented with an introduction on Ru porcelian's inheritance, research and development in recent years while visiting Zhu's Ru Porcelain Co. Ru porcelain's history, new archaeological discoveries, firing techniques and other related topics were discussed during the visit. The delegation also gave advice on how to spread and promote Ru porcelain culture.

Ruzhou pays great attention to the development of the Ru porcelain cultural industry. As a highlight of its "culture city" strategy, Ruzhou has strengthened research and development to promote traditional culture and cultural brands of Ru porcelain. A series of Ru porcelain-themed activities such as a cultural festival, firing skill competition and exhibition were held to promote and spread Ru porcelain culture.

Ru porcelain was also selected as a product for international geographic indication protection. It is also a "Top 10 Provincial Geographic Indication Protected Product" in Henan. The firing technique of Ru porcelain was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. Ruzhou, the origin of Ru porcelain, was given the title of "Home of Ru Porcelain" by the China Ceramics Industrial Association.

According to statistics, there are about 60 Ru porcelain manufacturers in Ruzhou. With an annual output of 60 million pieces, the region sells Ru porcelain to 23 provinces and cities in China, as well as exports pieces to foreign countries.
