The No 8682 armed police force stationed in Ruzhou held a large-scale drill in the city of Ruzhou, Henan province, on August 6 to improve its preparedness for flood emergencies.

Ruzhou officials, including Jiang Yong, political commissar of the Ruzhou people's armed forces department; Shao Zhengquan, head of the Ruzhou people's armed forces department; and Li Shengwei, Party vice-secretary, supervised the drill, which was held in Jianshankou Reservoir in Ruzhou.

The drill mimicked a rescue scenario. Over 10 armed police took part in the drill as they drove six speed boats and successfully rescued the 'flood victims'.
