A Spring Festival party organized by the municipal Party committee and municipal government will be held at Ruzhou Theatre on the evening of Feb 5, 2013. Wonderful programs will be presented at the event.

Chinese opera is a must during Chinese New Year. An opera fan competition organized by the municipal culture broadcast bureau will be conducted at Ruzhou Theatre on Feb 12. There will be a three-day opera show from Feb 23 to 25 performed by outstanding groups recommended by various town and street communities. The show will be performed at the square in Ruzhou Theatre.

There will be a yangko (a popular rural folk dance) and waist drum competition on Feb 14 at the square in Ruzhou Theatre. Gongs, drums, songs and dances will bring a happy and lively atmosphere to the area.

On Feb 19, a weiqi (a kind of Chinese chess) competition will be held in the Weiqi Club. People can enrich their daily life and strengthen friendships through the competition.

A folk culture match will start at 9 am on Feb 21 in front of the municipal Party committee building. Each town and street will send at least one team to participate in the match. There will be a dragon-lion dance and gong and drum performances at that time.

A painting and calligraphy show organized by the literary federation and culture broadcast bureau will be arranged from Feb 21 to 26.

The lantern show will be arranged from Feb 22 to 25 along Guang Cheng Road, Chao Yang Road, Wang Song Road and Guang Yu Road. Various kinds of dazzling lanterns will surely be a feast for the eye.
