Free study in Indonesia

High school students in the city of Ruzhou, Henan province, can apply for a scholarship to study at Indonesia's President University under a program sponsored by entrepreneur Li Wenguang, an Indonesian Chinese.

Li is a prominent leader of Indonesia's overseas Chinese and chairman of the board of directors of the Pan Indonesia Group Co. Any student admitted to President University can qualify for a $7,500 scholarship annually to cover tuition, food, accommodation, and health insurance. Those high school grads with a college entrance exam score above 475 are also eligible for at least 25 percent of the scholarship.

President University is located in the Jababeka Education Park in Kota Jababeka and offers courses in 16 majors, including information technology, electronic technology, international economics and trade and, public relation, all of them conducted in English.

The school had 62 students on scholarships last year. Eight out of nine of the school's graduates have found jobs in Indonesia.
