Ruzhou releases plan for geological disaster prevention

Recently, the government of Ruzhou, Central China’s Henan province, issued the 2014 Geological Disaster Prevention Plan, through which the municipality clarifies general requirements, corresponding responsibilities and measures on geological disaster prevention.

According to the local geological structure and environment conditions, the main types of geological disaster in Ruzhou as predicted in 2014 are mountain collapse, landslide, debris flow and ground subsidence. The main prevention periods are July, August and September, when risks are highest.

It is stated in the plan that all the relevant organizations, departments and officers should attach greater importance to the prevention of geological disasters to reduce economic losses and casualties as much as possible.
