The city of Ruzhou is going to collect slogans of “Ruzhou Spirit” within Henan Province.

The targeted slogans are expected to represent the city, its citizens, local culture and geographical features, contemporary features and values, its rich history; and more importantly, the “Ruzhou Spirit”, so as to arouse and strengthen people’s sense of recognition, belonging, honor and pride towards Ruzhou. Meanwhile, submitted works need to be clear, distinctly-themed, and concisely-worded. Every contribution should be limited to between 8-16 Chinese characters.

The activity lasts from June 10 to July 104 (the date of sending a letter or of receiving e-mails).

Following the preliminary collection, Ruzhou municipal publicity department will invite experts to assess all the contributions. Sixteen of them will qualify for the finals. The 16 candidates will be published on mainstream media at provincial and municipal levels, so the most popular slogans can be decided through open voting.

In addition to the 10 finalists, six winners will stand out from the voting: one first prize, two second ones and three third places, with rewards of 20,000 yuan ($3202) , 5,000 yuan and 3,000 yuan respectively. All the award winners will receive honorary certificates.

The best “Ruzhou Spirit” slogan after voting will be handed to the Ruzhou municipal Party committee, municipal people’s congress, municipal government and the municipality’s political consultative congress for approval and the adopted slogan will be released to the public via the news media.

This collection will be carried out in accordance with Copyright Law, and all the entries should be original works.
