Ceramic tile project kicks off in Ruzhou

Henan Zhongqi Ceramics Co's ceramic tiles project was inaugurated in Ruzhou Industrial Cluster on March 2. It has an annual output estimated to be 12 million square meters.

Wang Canghai, deputy director of the standing committee of Ruzhou’s municipal people’s congress, announced the project’s commencement.

In his speech at the foundation stone laying ceremony, Hu Hongxian, vice-mayor of Ruzhou, gave a briefing on the city’s traditional competitive industries, such as energy, chemicals, equipment manufacturing, metallurgy and construction material development, over recent years and the transformation and upgrade of their industrial structure; he thought the ceramic project of Zhongqi would bring new life to the city’s construction materials industry.

The vice-mayor said that the city should adhere to service-oriented principles in order to optimize the development of the project and guarantee its progress, while the project itself should work on efficiently sticking to accepted scientific construction standards.

The ceramic tile project received an investment of 520 million yuan ($84.86 million) from Henan Zhongqi Ceramics Co. With an area of 17.2 hectares, the total output value of the project is estimated to be worth 220 million yuan per year, based on an annual output of 12 million sq m, while also providing 500 job opportunities.
