To internalize Lei Feng spirit into people’s hearts

Ruzhou effectively held “Learning from Lei Feng” activities starting last year. Ruzhou promoted Lei Feng spirit in campuses and villages and placed emphasis on foundation, innovation and results.

Ruzhou has arranged and deployed “Learning from Lei Feng” activities according to requirements since last April. The implementation plan was drawn up rapidly. Ruzhou organized a knowledge competition and speech contest to deeply internalize Lei Feng spirit into people’s hearts. A “Learning from Lei Feng” special column was opened up to vigorously spread Lei Feng’s stories and spirit. The work has laid a solid foundation for the smooth development of “Learning from Lei Feng” activities.

To choose the best propaganda carriers

The “Learning from Lei Feng” Square was established at Ruzhou Theater thanks to its prime location. The “Learning from Lei Feng” Street was created on Wang Song Road, the most bustling street in Ruzhou. Tens of thousands of yuan were spent on publicity signboards. Six billboards costing more than 500,000 yuan were set up to create large-scale public service advertisements. More public billboards and propaganda columns have been established as well. Five long-term and 20 temporary “Learning from Lei Feng” service spots were created to provide free service for the public.

To set up models for the public

Public transit is closely related to people’s daily life. The transport agency carried out “Learning from Lei Feng” activities in service industries and public places. The “Giving Seats” activity launched by the City Bus Company was a success. The Automobile Transportation Company carried out a cleaning activity that promoted Ruzhou’s image and earned a good reputation.

The Ruzhou Federation of Trade Unions organized “Learning from Lei Feng” activities. The Ruzhou Education Bureau took charge of promoting Lei Feng spirit in campus activities. Various education activities were carried out in primary and secondary schools. Lei Feng spirit was spread through books, stories and writing.

Song Zhaopu, president of Ruzhou Jingeng Rehabilitation Hospital, has contributed over 20 million yuan in just three years and helped 733 abandoned brain paralysis babies, among which more than 130 have been cured. A total of 79 abandoned babies were eligible for adoption and have been adopted abroad. Song Zhaopu became a typical representative of Ruzhou’s “Learning from Lei Feng” activities.

Ruzhou has launched 116 volunteer services since last year. More than 1,800 volunteers have made contributions. A strong atmosphere of learning from Lei Feng has been built in Ruzhou up to now.
