A Ruzhou 2012 literature and art awards ceremony was held at City Hall on Jan 24, 2013. Yang Huixing, deputy director of the National People's Congress Standing Committee of Ruzhou; Guo Jie, vice-mayor of Ruzhou; and Zhang Guiming, deputy county class cadre and Party member of the CPPCC of Ruzhou, attended the ceremony.

Ruzhou strongly promoted cultural development in 2012 and actively implemented literary projects. Ruzhou carried out activities delivering culture to the country. It also promoted a nationwide public collection campaign of high-quality drama works and other kinds of cultural work.

Guo Jie hopes that literature and art creators will reinforce the study of theoretical knowledge in 2013 and create more superior works.

The ceremony honored the third prize honorable mention at the fourth Chinese calligraphy Lanting Awards, Zhang Hongjie. Zhang is also the vice-president of the Ruzhou Calligraphers’ Association. An Honorable Mention Prize was given to Han Cunli. Various other winners were also honored at the ceremony.
