Qiling county, Ruzhou, Henan province has made great efforts to comprehensively make use of crop stalks instead of burning them.

Qiling county has established 11 ensiling ammoniation pools and supported the creation of two cattle farms belonging to Heyuan Dairy and Qihang Farming. The two enterprises have been encouraged to purchase crop stalks with ears at 350 yuan per ton and empty crop stalks at 85 yuan per ton from farmers.

In addition, a carbon manufacturing factory and four compact granule factories have been established that all purchase crop stalks from farmers. If farmers do not want to sell the crop stalks, they can receive help from 16 large machines purchased by the county to return crop stalks to the field as fertilizer.

About 2,000 hectares of autumn crop stalks will be utilized, not only reducing environmental pollution, but also relieving the burden on farmers.
