On Nov 20, Chen Tianran, former vice president of the Calligraphers Association of Henan province, former vice president and honorary president of Henan Artists Association, former president of Painting and Calligraphy Institute of Henan province, and famous calligrapher Ge Quanming visited Tinghuai Ru Porcelain Company.

Chen and his party walked into the exhibition hall of elaborate Tinghuai Ru Porcelain works and began to test, review and discuss the artistic style and value of each piece.

At the ripe age of 88, Chen showed his liking to Ru porcelain and stopped to look at the elaborate works that had won gold prizes, such as Lotus Jar and the Extra Large Plate for three times and praised them without ceasing.

Li Tinghuai, the director, explained the history of Ru porcelain, its position in China and the world in detail, and introduced the heritage and innovation of contemporary Ru porcelain to the visitors.

The pair also went to the production workshop to discuss each technological process with the workers and witness how the elaborate Ru porcelain is produced from clay. In the furnace room they marveled at the 12 hour process of burning Ru porcelain at 1,300 C into an elaborate piece.

Chen could not help his excitement and wrote "Qi Yun Feng Yun" (unstable situation is contained in the atmosphere) with a brush. Ge also wrote four Chinese characters, "Ci Kui Zhi Xiang" (the hometown of best porcelain).

Li sent the pair a washbowl from oracle bone for washing brushes and the God of Longevity as gifts.
